Haytor Lowman

Haytor Rocks are the most well-known landmark on Dartmoor, two massive granite stumps at an elevation of 457 metres which can seen from Portland Bill. Lowman is the westernmost outcrop, facing west into the setting sun. The use of “man” here may well be from “maen” a Celtic word for stone.
